It has been 4 months since we launched the Incident Reporting Portal on the EWPA Website – Incident Reporting Portal. We are pleased to see reports coming in from users, owners and technicians regarding issues and incidents involving MEWPs. Feedback has shown that the portal is easy to use, and we’ve reached out to those who provided their contact details to offer support and guidance where needed. The value of these reports has been significant. The industry benefits from the quantity and quality of information shared, and we would like to share the results with you.

Thanks to your contributions the Association has issued several safety notices and bulletins, including guidance on:
- Wheel nut torquing,
- Safe scissor deck extension use,
- Harness use in scissors.
Sadly, at the end of 2024, a tragic incident involving a scissor lift resulted in the loss of an operator’s life. Our deepest condolences go out to the operator’s family and colleagues. Preventing such incidents is a key focus of our work.
We are lifting our communications with regular guidance topics coming out, and we will provide safety notices where a trending issue emerges, or critical safety concerns need to be addressed. Check back on our News and Public Guidance page regularly. And use the Incident Reporting Portal to report incidents and issues.
